The Law of Light

The Law of Light

Light and dark. Fear and faith. Love and hate. Positive and negative.

All exist in relationship to one another. They must.

You cannot have the brightness of the sun without the vast universe that holds it. You cannot separate the temptuous flame from the deepening shadow it casts. Therefore, when you begin to awaken — when you are enlightening — you will inevitably be brought into contact with all your darkness. Brought into a deeper state of truth.

To see and be light is to know the corresponding dark.

This is what no one tells you at the beginning of the path: awakening isn’t only the rising sun. It’s also the long night that comes before it. The more you open to love, the more fear will loosen its hold — often by screaming louder first.

The light does not destroy the dark. It integrates it. It reveals it. It blesses it into wholeness.

The shadow is not the enemy of the light; it is its teacher. It shows you where the light wants to live next.

The ideas, beliefs, concepts, even the collective agonies must be seen. Witnessed. Understood. When the darkness comes with all the doubt, the anger, the grief, the confusion, even the madness, do not run. Sit beside it. Hold it. Let it speak. It is the other half of your illumination.

Light need not fight the dark. It does not need to waver. It can simply shine, and the darkness, witnessed, becomes something holy.
